The Association “O Masă Caldă” is a meeting place of big-hearted people and charities. Another proof that a warm meal nourishes not only the body but also the soul.
Beneficiaries

In the communities where we operate, we address between 900 and 1000 beneficiaries: children, adults, elderly people with financial and/or health problems. We don't do social surveys, we just do food that we give to those in need and who come to meet us daily or weekly. We try not only to quench hunger but also to bring joy to those who benefit from a hot meal prepared in our kitchens.

Before the total quarantine, a beneficiary told us, full of fear “Do not leave us without food. You are our only sure source that we have a daily hot meal”Granny is 93 years old and has been coming to #omasacalda for 7 years for " good food and for a smile and a good word.”
A custom of ours is that, after sharing food, we say goodbye with a “see you tomorrow”. One of the days, one of the gentlemen approached us and told us that from tomorrow he was not coming. He hired a concrete blacksmith. And he showed us the special boots he got. An irrelevant piece of information for many, but for us, it is confirmation that what we do is worth it, and we were overjoyed, for the simple reason that he wanted to share it with us.
Volunteers

On the other side, there are those who devote their time and talent to putting things in motion. Their devotion to a warm meal is stronger than described in the management books because it springs from faith and soul. And one of our rewards is when at the end of the activity they say they will replicate the recipe in their kitchen! Or you notice their silent fright when they learn that they are about to prepare 250 servings, they, who maximum can boast of a sandwich. And at the end, you feel the happiness of a success that materializes in " if my mother would see me....” Yes, the #omasacalda volunteer community is a special one!
Donors

An overwhelming feeling is when we pull out our monthly statements and read the messages that accompany the amounts transferred by our donors. Or when we're visited in the kitchen by our special donor, Mr. C. V. who insists on sharing the pension with us. You know that saying, "your hair gets up on your hands"? It happens literally. So we will never find the right words to express our gratitude for the way we are supported! That's the donor community #omasacalda ❤️
