We cook in self-catering kitchens or in rented kitchens in the community. We haven’t taken a break in a week and continue to plan for the future because there is nothing like the feeling of contributing to the community you are a part of by helping those less fortunate.
Nobody deserves to go to bed hungry! Your donation counts! It helps us feed vulnerable people.
“O Masă Caldă” (A Warm Meal) has been operating since June 2013, when, in Cluj-Napoca, a handful of heartfelt people collected 100 lei, with which 50 hot meals were cooked, at the social canteen of Cluj-Napoca City Hall in the Museum Square. Gradually, we expanded our activities to other cities: Adjud, Bucharest, Bistrita, Constanța, Satu Mare and Zalău.
Our hot meals reach children in daycare centers run by other non-governmental organizations, residents of adult shelter centers, but also vulnerable, homeless people.
Because food is a basic need!
The science of good deeds says that altruism is the antidote to stress! When you help your peers, the level of oxytocin – the love hormone – increases and are released endorphins – the molecules of happiness. The result? A general state of well-being, of happiness; we like our job more; our stress decreases; our life span increases and, last but not least, the desire to continue to do well arises! Join the #omasacalda volunteer community!
